Maintenance

An Air Conditioner looses about 15% of their efficiency each year but the good news is that you can recuperate it all back with THERMO CLIMA.

Have you ever wondered why your mural air conditioner or heat pump isn’t efficient as it once was? Have you ever told yourself that the unit smells like dust or mold? Well you should probably know that it’s important to have your air conditioner regularly maintained.

Other than “cleaning the filters”, which must be done monthly, the indoor unit will collect bacteria over time. These may be harmful for the household, the system and air quality.

  • How do I know if I need this service?

This is a question we get asked frequently. Begin by lowering the horizontal louvers that distributes air from the front of your indoor unit (This is done by hand while the unit is off) . Once you have opened the louvers, use a flashlight to look behind the vertical deflectors and metal grill. Beyond the deflectors and metal grill you will see a circular roll, which we call a blower. If this part is noticeably packed with dust and/or mold, the unit needs to be serviced.

  • How often should my unit be cleaned?

It is difficult to give a precise time table as every household and environment differs from case to case. A good time frame is 1-3 years.

  • What are the consequences of not cleaning my unit?
  1. Higher energy bills. With a dirty unit, your system has to work harder and run longer trying to keep your space cool.
  2. More breakdowns. Longer running times. Putting more stress on all the electrical and mechanical parts causing them to fail when you need your unit the most!
  3. Possible water dripping. Dust on the blower will cause it to spin a lower speed, which will not pull in enough air. This will turn into condensation and water will drip from the machine.
  4. Insufficient cooling. The unit can’t remove as much heat and humidity from the air in your space thus having a noticeable less efficient cooling effect.

Your unit will be completely cleaned and disinfected to assure that the system is working at its full potential!

Here are the steps and parts that will be cleaned.

  • Both Evaporator & Condenser Coils
  • Evaporator Blower
  • Condensation Drain Pan & Tube
  • Filters
  • All Panels
  • System verification during use
  • Refrigerant Level & Pressure (also known as Freon)
