Maintenance

Preserve the performance of your system and the quality of your air.

An air conditioner loses approximately 15% of its efficiency each year, but the good news is that you can recover all of it with THERMO CLIMA.

Have you ever wondered why your wall-mounted air conditioner or heat pump isn’t as efficient as it used to be? Have you ever noticed that the unit smells dusty or musty? Well, you probably already know that regular maintenance of your air conditioner is important.

In addition to monthly filter cleaning, the indoor unit will collect bacteria over time. These can be harmful to your home, the system, and your air quality.
This is a question we get asked frequently. Begin by lowering the horizontal louvers that distributes air from the front of your indoor unit (This is done by hand while the unit is off) . Once you have opened the louvers, use a flashlight to look behind the vertical deflectors and metal grill. Beyond the deflectors and metal grill you will see a circular roll, which we call a blower. If this part is noticeably packed with dust and/or mold, the unit needs to be serviced.
It is difficult to give a precise time table as every household and environment differs from case to case. A good time frame is 1-3 years.
Higher energy bills.
With a dirty unit, your system has to work harder and run longer trying to keep your space cool. More breakdowns. Longer running times. Putting more stress on all the electrical and mechanical parts causing them to fail when you need your unit the most!

Possible water dripping.
Dust on the blower will cause it to spin a lower speed, which will not pull in enough air. This will turn into condensation and water will drip from the machine.

Insufficient cooling.
The unit can’t remove as much heat and humidity from the air in your space thus having a noticeable less efficient cooling effect.
